I make a smoothie for breakfast at least 5 days a week. I don’t venture much beyond my vanilla or chocolate protein powder, but I do like to mix things up every once in awhile.  A couple of nights ago, I made homemade applesauce with my beautiful Granny Smiths from Apple Creek Ranch. The next morning, the applesauce called out to me…hmmm, I’ve never tried throwing that in in the blender. Long story short- WOW, Yum. You’ll like it. Try it.

Apple Pie Smoothie (single serving)


Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop dairy free vanilla protein powder
  • 1 cup almond milk OR coconut milk (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp flax seeds
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1/8 tsp allspice
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 6 ice cubes

Directions:

Combine protein powder, almond milk, vanilla, flax seeds, applesauce, spices, and ice together in a blender. Blend until icy smooth. Sprinkle some spice on top.
